Teen Leader Lab

Event Dates: June 15-17, 2023
Location: Big Country Baptist Assembly located in Leuders, TX
Registration: January 1 – May 25 on 4-H Online
Late Registration: May 20th – 26th
Registration Fee: Youth $150.00

PROGRAM:  There will be fun hands-on workshops and activities focusing on leadership, team-building and additional educational opportunities.

COST: The cost will be $150 per 4-H member. This includes five meals, two snacks, two night’s lodging, limited accident insurance, a resource fee, facilities fee, camp shirt and program materials.

PARTICIPANTS MUST BE –

  • Grades 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 as of August 31, 2022
  • Enrolled in 4-H
  • Interested in or involved in leadership roles
  • Have a 4-H project
  • Willing to take part in all phases of Teen Leadership Lab
  • Willing to assume leadership rolls after they return home
  • Willing to share experiences and material with others

ARRIVAL – 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 15th. Youth will need to eat lunch on your own prior to arriving at the camp facility. The lab will conclude on Saturday, June 17th, immediately following breakfast and facility clean-up.

DRESS – Dress casual! Bring clothes and shoes for active sports, recreation and nightly dance. “Assorted Glow Sticks” – No flip flops during dance. Please counsel your 4-H members about bringing appropriate clothing and swimwear (Girls – no spaghetti strap tops, skimpy bikinis or tops, etc. Boys- no biking shorts, Speedos, etc.).

 WHAT TO BRING – Towels, twin size bedding, toiletries, shower shoes, swim suit, beach towel, water shoes, sun screen, etc.

  • Waiver, Indemnification, and Medical Treatment Authorization

*Youth will need to travel with the (2) two sets of documents to Teen Leader Lab. One (1) set of forms will be turned in at registration. The second set is for traveling home. District 3 will not return forms to youth / CEA when camp is over. If families previously completed the needed forms on their 4-H Connect profile, youth can print (2) copies to bring with them; one for travel and one to be turned in at camp registration.

District 3 4-H Officer Elections will take place during the Teen Leader Lab.

Officer applications are due on the 4-H Online site at the time of registration on or before May 26, 2023. You will upload the pdf document within the online registration process.

Newly elected District 3 Council Officers will be required to attend a district officer retreat  There will be a cost of $85.00 for the retreat that each officer will be responsible for paying. More details will follow once we have received your application.

In addition, please note that if running for District President or District Vice President you will also be committing to serve on state 4-H Council and will be required to attend the 2022-2023 Texas 4-H Council Workshop scheduled for July 17-20 at the Texas 4-H Conference Center.
